Quick Tip Tuesday: No-Mess Picture Hanging

Quick Tip Tuesday is all about smart little tips to help make life a little simpler. Today’s quick tip is brought to you by 3M. {I wish.} But seriously, what do America’s favorite office supply, Post-it® Notes, have to do with picture hanging? Well, I’ve been installing a lot of new things on my freshly painted walls, and I don’t know about at your house, but the studs in my walls are never where I want them to be. True for you too? When I commit to hanging something, I end up using wall anchors, which make large holes — and usually a mess with sheetrock dust.

To help make clean-up easy, take a Post-it Note and fold just beneath the sticky line, making it into an L shape. Apply the sticky part on the wall below where you want to insert the anchor. Install whatever your heart desires. All the sheetrock dust will fall onto the Post-it. Gently peel of the wall and discard!
