Quick Tip Tuesday: Gas Gauge Arrow

Ok friends. Raise your hand if you’ve ever rented a car, pulled up to the gas station to fill up, stepped out of the car, and then realized your gas tank is on the other side. Did you know that there’s a sure way to figure out what side the gas tank is on, without ever leaving the vehicle or craning your neck awkwardly outside the window? {I just learned this little tip several months ago, thanks to my friend Tracie, so I’m guessing that others may not know it either.}

The secret is right on our dashboards! Looking at the gas gauge, there is a little graphic of a gas pump. Next to that is an arrow (more like a triangle) on the left or right side, which indicates on which side of the car the tank is located. This handy little feature exists in all newer vehicles. Next time you hit the road, check it out!

      I tried researching how long this little indicator has been around, but I couldn’t find any legit answers. I’m guessing 2009? Just curious, did you know about this before that?
