Life’s most important lesson? Make your bed every day

In January, I blogged about the 10 habits of an organized person. The first habit I listed? Make your bed every day. Awhile ago I came upon this video that I just have to share. It features Admiral William McRaven, head of the elite Navy SEALS, who explains why making your bed every day may be life’s most important lesson. I knew I was on to something! The video is short (1:37). Watch it here.

McRaven quote

If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride and it will encourage you to do another task and another…. And if by chance you have had a miserable day, you will come home to a bed that is made — that you made. And a made bed gives you a sense of encouragement that tomorrow will be better. -Admiral William McRaven

Wow! That inspired me to make my bed in the mornings. I’m terrible at that task right now, but I’m always looking for new ways to be more productive. 🙂
