Hi, my name is Julee, and I live near Minneapolis, MN with my husband of 19 years and two kiddos. I chose the name Sweet Tea Street for my blog for a few reasons: 1) It sounds like a fun place to live — a place where your house is always open, neighbors greet each other from their porches, and you can put your feet up and relax! 2) My favorite drink is…you guessed it. I think I was supposed to be born in the South, because up here in the North they think sweet tea is tea and a side of sugar packets. 3) The name matches my desire for this blog, which is to be an inspiring and encouraging place to visit — a little like home.

Ever since I was a young girl, I have loved words — both written and spoken. In fact, my kindergarten teacher actually noted on my report card my love for talking. Add to that my Nancy Drew-inspired mystery stories I wrote throughout elementary school and you can see what led me to a career in journalism and public relations. Combine that love of writing with my passions for organizing and design, and the result is this blog. Here I want to share real life: organization and design tips that we can really do, not just pin; and inspiring stories about people you can relate to. My friends will tell you I’m sort of a neat freak and my house is always clean. {You’re welcome to stop over anytime!} Yet, I’m a recovering perfectionist who realizes I won’t ever have it all together and I must rely on the grace that Jesus grants me daily. In my spare time, I have a sweet little design business over at http://www.wordsonawall.com, and can be found organizing people’s spaces at http://www.theorganizedsister.com. Of course, my number one priority is my family. Juggling hockey, soccer and basketball games keeps us on our toes, and every once in a while my husband and I get a date.

I invite you to find me on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest too! So sit back, relax and read on!
